This one is a personal favorite of mine! If I had to pick what I would say is the most fun spring rifle to fiddle around with in the backyard, it would hands down be the Double Eagle M47. Its pump action design allows you to blast off follow-up shots incredibly quickly, making this one of the fastest to operate spring blasters on the market. The full stock variant gives you a leverage point for racking the pump, and the sawed off variant is the perfect compact apocalypse zombie blaster for taking out multiple targets without the burden of a larger rifle’s size. This shotgun and its many variants have become a hobby staple of airsoft, as their fieldable velocity and inexpensive price allow just about anyone to experience the thrill of watching a spread of BBs absolutely demolish a target. To add to the immersion, this shotgun uses 30 round shotgun shells as a magazine to put you right in character as a close range pump-action wielding breacher. Alright… This one may fall a bit out of what I would consider the budget for this list. Nonetheless, it would be a crime to highlight Double Eagle without mentioning their most legendary budget rifle. The UTR45 is an anomaly in the airsoft world, offering a degree of performance, reliability, and uniqueness unseen before on the airsoft market at its price point. No other platform (spare for Double Eagle’s M4 versions of this rifle) comes out of the box with a programmable optical electronic trigger system, giving you top-of-the-line semi-automatic performance and reliability for what would ordinarily be a beginner budget price point. For most other airsoft guns, you would have to get this upgrade part installed aftermarket, which usually costs around $90 dollars for the unit alone. With the UTR, not only do you get a platform that stands out among the sea of M4s you typically see at airsoft fields, but also a primary pre-equipped with the tools to perform at the highest competition standards.
Its polymer body doesn’t feel cheap in the slightest. There are quite a few polymer M4s on the market with lower quality feeling bodies for higher prices. Even then, they still don’t even compare to the internal excellence this rifle delivers! I’ve always been mesmerized at how such a bang-for-your-buck rifle could exist in this hobby. Given what a shining star this rifle is, I look forward to seeing what Double Eagle can bring us in the future with their knack for designing excellence at a budget!
